North Shore is hosting the Third Annual Northern Friendly Tournament with the Lat 42 Club from Derry, NH
The Lat 42 club from Derry, NH will be bringing eight teams to participate in the Northern Friendly III Tournament hosted by North Shore VBC. Their U17 and U18 teams will compete with our U17 and U18 teams at Pingree School in Hamilton, MA; and their U12, U14, and U16 teams will join our U14 and U16 teams in the gym at Masconomet HS. Teams will play in a typical four team pool play tournament that they will see during the NERVA tournaments later in the season. We will also focus on learning how to referee and score the matches as we will be doing at NERVA tournaments.
The schedule for the Northern Friendly III tournament are linked here. Directions to Pingree School are also linked here.
Winterfest Tournament - Congratulations to all North Shore teams who competed in the First NERVA Winterfest Tournament at the Convention Center in Hartford, CT this past weekend. All agreed that it was a great experience to see all that volleyball being played on 21 courts at the same time.
SPECIAL NOTE: The North 18 Open team - Rip Tide - took second place in the Silver Bracket. They ended up in 7th place among the 40 teams competing in the U18 level - a tremendous effort for Rip Tide.
Extra practice time is available for teams at the Danvers facility on Saturday and Tuesday evenings. Your coach may be discussing possible use of this facility by your team.
SNOW PROCEDURE
The decision to cancel a practice here in RED late Saturday evening. We recognize that players are coming from various distances and that weather conditions at their homes may vary greatly. NSJVB will honor the decision of any parent or player who feels conditions are not safe to travel to a practice.

Developmental Program
If your volleyball skills are not developed well enough for the Club Team competition - NSJVB also offers a Developmental Program that runs every Sunday AM from December 6, 2008 to May 2, 2009, at the Danvers facility. The Developmental Program, established in 2006, has been very successful for both athletes new to the sport as well as players needing additional skill training before trying out for the Club Team level. Players will receive intensive skill training in all aspects of competitive volleyball play, and will receive evaluations of their skills at regular intervals over the season.
For more details go to the Developmental Program section under the Program Details button above.
