Open Teams
NSJVB, Inc. will attempt to form three Open Level teams in 2012 at the U16, U17, and U18 levels. Open Team tryouts will be held on November 20 at Masconomet HS from 8:00 AM to 12:00PM and will continue on November 27 at the Beverly YMCA (8-10PM), and again on December 1 at the Beverly YMCA (8PM-10PM). Team selection will be finalized by the December 4 practice at Masco. Open teams will practice every Sunday from 10:30AM to 12:30PM at Masco and every Thursday from 8:00 – 10:00 PM at the Beverly YMCA.
- Open team competition includes the Winterfest tournament in Hartford, CT (January 13-16), NERVA Qualifiers in Derry, NH (Feburary 4-5 or 11 - 12), and five regular season tournaments.
Tryout fee is $150 if pre-registered by November 15 and $160 thereafter. The Pre-Registration procedure is described below. Players who are not selected for one of the Open teams are invited to attend Club Team tryouts held at Masconomet HS on December 5 and 12 at no additional tryout charge.
Open Teams will compete in the NERVA-sponsored Winterfest Tournament in Hartford, CT on January 13-16, 2012. Players are responsible lodging at Winterfest. Open teams must also compete in NERVA Qualifiers on either February 4-5 or 11-12 in Derry, NH. For this reason players must make an early commitment to the Open Teams in order to participate in both Winterfest and the Qualifiers. Therefore, the Program fee of $800 is due by December 18 so that team rosters can be submitted and uniforms ordered. Please make sure that you and your parents understand the time and monetary commitment of participation in an Open team.
A second travel tournament will be considered (Albany, Baltimore, or Florida) but will involve extra fees.

Club Teams
NSJVB, Inc. will field up to 12 Club Teams for 2012. Age levels will be U14, U15, U16, U17 and U18 – although the actual number of teams per age level will be depend on the number of players who attend tryouts. We stress a high level of play by attempting to limit the teams to a total of TEN players. Since our facility limitations make it impossible to field more than 15 teams at the Club Level – we may have to make cuts if the turnout at tryouts is too high for that number of teams. Tryouts will be December 4 and 11 at Masconomet HS. Tryout fee is $50 if pre-registered by November 29 and $60 thereafter. The Pre-Registration procedure is described below. Initial team selection will be done on December 18, ane final team selection will be completed by the first practice on January 8.
. The Program Fee of $450 must be paid in full by the January 29 practice unless prior payment plan arrangements have been made. A late fee of $50 will be added to the Program Fee after the January 29 deadline. Discounts are given for players returning to NSJVB from the previous year and for families with siblings in the program. We also offer uniform discounts if a player can use last year’s uniform. A non-refundable $100 Program Fee Deposit is due on January 8 to assure immediate placement on a NSJVB Club Team. If this deposit is not paid, a player may practice with other non-committed players for a weekly $20 fee. Once a player pays the $100 deposit she will be place on a NSJVB Club Team and the deposit and weekly fees collected will apply to her Club Program fee.

North Shore Developmental Program
The Developmental Program established in 2006 has been very successful for both athletes new to the sport as well as players needing additional skill training before trying out for the Club Team level. Players will receive intensive skill training in all aspects of competitive volleyball play. Players will receive evaluations of their skills at regular intervals over the season. Players interested in participating in the Developmental Program ONLY do NOT need to attend the regular NSJVB tryouts sessions. They can report directly to the new North Shore Technical HS facility for registration and orientation from 9:00 - 11:30AM on December 4, 2011. Players may join the Developmental Program at any time during the winter season.
Required forms for Pre-Registration is located below. Athletes may join the program and register at any time during the 20-week season.
Cost for 20 week Developmental Program is $350. Checks are made out to NSJVB, Inc.

*Uncommitted Club Team players may practice with other uncommitted age group players for $20 per session which will be applied toward their Program Fee once they pay the $100 Committment Fee to join a Club Team.
DISCOUNTS
NSJVB offers several discounts on both Open and Club Teams as well as Developmental Program fees.
Legacy Discount - $10 discount for a player who participated in one of the NSJVB programs during the previous season.
Family Discount - $40 discount for each subsequent sister/brother in the Club Team or Developmental programs. Oldest member is full price. Discount applies to all younger sisters/brothers.
Uniform Discount - A $25 discount is offered if you want to use the 2010 uniform this year. This discount may not be available if a team member has a 2010 uniform with the same number.
NERVA Registration Procedure - All NSJVB participants must be registered with NERVA. Please follow the NERVA Registration Procedures to complete this task. No one will be allowed to tryout for NSJVB until they are members.
- Pre-Registration for Open Teams must be received by November 15. Open Team tryout fees after that date will be $160. Pre-Registration for Club Teams must be received by November 29. Club Team tryout fees after that date will be $60.

- From South: (Rte. 128) - Take I-95N to Endicott Street (Exit 51) in Topsfield, MA. Turn right (East) at top of ramp and the High School is the first group of buildings to the East (right) of I-95. Courts are in the field house at the back of the school. Go past the front of the school and turn right into the last entrance road to the school. The field house is at the end of the parking lot.
- From North: (I-95) - Take I-95S to Endicott Street (Exit 51) in Topsfield, MA. Turn left (East) at top of ramp and the High School is the first group of buildings on the right after you cross over I-95.

From the South and East (Rt 1 & I 95) – Take Rt 114, Middleton exit and go west on Rt 114. Turn right onto Log Bridge Road just before the second set of lights at the Middleton Marketplace shopping area. The school is immediately on your left.
From the North & West – Take Rt 114 east through the Middleton Square intersection with Rt 62. Go to the third set of lights and take a diagonal left turn onto Log Bridge Road. Do not turn sharp left into the Middleton Marketplace. The school is immediately on your left. The gym is around back. All parking is along the side of the football field and in front of the school. There is a small lot just beyond the main entrance to the school on your left.
Pingree School

- From South: (Rte. 128) - Take I-95N to Rt – 128 toward Gloucester. Take Rt 1A North (Exit 20B) and go 2.5 miles through North Beverly to Hamilton. As you approach the town center you take a left on Arbor Street at the large white Congregational church. Proceed about 2 miles to the entrance to Pingree School on the right. Go up the long entrance road and go to the right of the main school and head to the back of the main school building to the gym entrance and parking lot next to the pond.
- From the West (Masco HS): (I-95) - Take Endicott Street (Exit 51) or Topsfield Road (Exit 52) in Topsfield, MA. Head east on either road (Endicott merges with Topsfield Road one mile past Masco HS) to Topsfield Center (big white church) to Rt -97. Turn left on Rt-97, go ¼ mile and bear right on Ipswich Road. Cross Rt 1 at light and go 1 mile to Asbury Road. Turn right on Asbury Road and go about three miles to Arbor Street. Turn left on Arbor Street (turns into Highland Street) and the entrance to Pingree School is one mile on the right.
